Step 4: File systems

You must format all file systems you wish to use in Linux. If you are reinstalling, or installing over an old Linux installation you must still format all file systems. This ensures that all filesystems are properly created and are empty.

Select file systems to format (with the space bar) and press enter. You will then have your choice of file system types. Unless you have a compelling reason not to, choose the ext2 file system type. You will then have the option to check for bad blocks If you wish to check for bad blocks, indicate so, and any blocks found to be bad will be ignored.

When you have formatted all your partitions, select ``Cancel''.
