You can choose which packages or series of packages you wish to display with the items in the Display menu.
The first three items in the Display menu (Window 3.4) operate on all packages the lim knows about. If you select ``Binary Packages'', for instance, the listboxes will display all binary packages.
The second three items and all the following items are used to Display a series of packages. These are simply convenient groups of related packages. For instance the development series may contain the C compiler and debugger, and other useful development tools. You can choose to display the series packages, or the sources to the series packages, or both.
Note that there are two options (see section 3.2.8) that govern which packages are displayed in the Available listbox (in addition to your specifications from the Display menu). You can choose to list only the highest available version of a package, and you can choose to exclude packages which are already installed (this is the default).
