Package Selection

After you have selected the various components that you want to install, you will be given the opportunity to customize your selections on a component-by- component and package-by-package basis. To customize your individual package selection, first choose the group that you want to examine. Then you can select/deselect individual packages from each group. When an individual package is highlighted press to see its size and description information. (Figure 2.10 If you are unsure whether or not a package is needed it is better to install everything in question.

The package selection screen will indicate the total disk space required to install the selected packages at the top of the ``Select Group'' screen. The total size will also be at the bottom of the ``Select Packages'' window and will be updated as you select and deselect individual packages. There are packages that are installed by default, therefore it is impossible to have a total size equal to zero.

After you have completed individual package selection the system will run a dependency check to verify the integrity of your package selection. Any unresolved dependencies will be listed along with a menu item to install all packages needed to resolve those dependencies. After you have resolved these issues select ``OK'' to start installing packages.
