Network Configuration

The network confiuration panel (Window 4.4) is designed to allow easy manipulation of parameters such as IP address, gateway address, network address, etc, as well as name servers, and /etc/hosts. Network devices can be added, removed, configured, brought up, brought down, etc. Ethernet, loopback, SLIP and PPP devices are supported, although SLIP and PPP support should be considered experimental.

If you will be using SLIP or PPP configuration, you should edit /etc/dip-script to ``chat'' properly with your SLIP/PPP server. Do not edit the @@@xxx@@@ entries -- those are configured automatically. The things to pay attention to are the wait lines, which must recognize stuff your SLIP/PPP server says.
