Step 14: Configure Networking

You will already have completed this stage if you are doing a network install. In that case you will be told so and asked if you wish to use this configuration for your system. Normally you will select ``yes'', but if you wish to change something select ``no''.

The first question asks if you wish to configure networking and bring it up, or just configure it. There really is no difference between the two, so select ``Config and Init''.

The second question asks you if you have an internal or external (D-Link) ethernet device. At present D-Link configuration is not included, so choose internal. RHC Linux only supports the internal ethernet cards listed in the hardware compatibility list at present.

You will then be asked to fill in a number of networking parameters. Sometimes defaults will be provided. Table 2.2 lists the parameters that are requested and some sample values. These are only examples!! Do not use these parameters!!
