Well I have been busy.. and I thank you ALL for your comments you have sent
me. Exams are coming up, so I'm going to go into hibernation for a few weeks,
but just before I do so I will announce...........

   E N L I G H T E N M E N T

Fvwm-XPM has been scrapped. Replaced by this new project. It's a brand-new
window-manager based on original fvwm2 source code. The official page for
now is:

   http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~s2154962/enlightenment.html

I have now release enlightenment in an alpha TEST phase. It's for testing
purposes. It inlcudes a new version of rxvt-xpm that hasn't been released
yet, which does double-buffering ( a NECESSARY MUST for Enlightenment). It has
bugs. Really weird ones. That is why i haven't released it yet. ONLY Intel
ELF Binaries are available for now, since it is for testing purposes only.
Don't start pestering me for source yet, because the answer is no. I'm
working on it. When it is ready for the full 1.0 release, Source will be
available.

I have also included Ben Buxton's XawXPM with the release.... I just
couldn't handle not giving it out aswell. Tnaks to Ben here. I'll be talking
to him over the next few weeks as I try and get a proper release of
Enlightenment together. I have never released a package of tghis size &
complextity before, so I'm treading cautiously, trying to get it all right.

And a second note. I recently lost my entire mailbox at uni
(s2154962@cse.unsw.edu.au).. and have lost about 3 weeks worth of mail
people have sent me that I was going to get round to replying to this
weekend. The backups at uni are stuffed. So ANYONE who has mailed me over
the last few weeks and hasn't got a reply.... PLEASE MAIL BACK! I HAVE LOST
YOUR MAIL! Especially the Guy who sent me that render of "HotMarble". Mail
me back! I have included you render as one of the default backgrounds in the
Enlightenment Test, but couldn't give creds.. I lost yer addres & mail!

Anyway. Check out the page... READ THE README! and enjoy. It doesn't come
with much in the way of docs... but it works.. for me and for a few other
people already. Take VERY GOOD HEED of my recommendations for minimum
Hardware requirements. I MEAN IT! Ic can run on lesser hardware, but don't
expect things to be fast.....

And another note.... to anyone who's an Employer. I graduate next June
(1996). I REALLY don't want to go off and bwe thrown into some boring job
and end up in a 9-5 consulting position having to sell Microsoft products..
I'd much rather keep developing for the Best OS in the World.. Linux (or
UNIX for that matter.. any flavor). There's nothing I enjoy more than
sitting down and coding up new fancy features. I can live almost enywhere
ibn the wqordl. I have both German and Australian passports, and can speak
German & French. The other option is if some University would like to offer
me a scholarship for ongoing study & research. I am unable to afford to go
on to do honors here at UNSW, and all they care about are raw marks here.
Does anyone want to put a ray of sunshine on the horizon for me? Because if
I don't. I may have to give up my projects alltogether.....

Anyway. Read the page, and Enjoy. I'll start working on more stuff after the
exams are over.

Bye!

The Rasterman.... Raster
